Description

Samegrelo is a historic province in the western part of Georgia. It is mostly known for its historical sites, mineral springs and coastal marshes. Endemic Colchis Forest, lakes and rivers topped by the mountains make this region very special.

Martvili Canyon is recently very popular among the visitors. This is a canyon running through the riverbed where you can take a boat and raft in between the rocks. This place was the favorite place of the local royal family and even took the name of their bath place – Dadiani Abano.

Dadiani Palace is the main palace of former royal family Dadiani, located in the center of Zugdidi. In the palace you can see the private belongings of the family as well as ethnographic exhibition of the area.

Nokalakevi archeological site is one of the outstanding Hellenistic remains on the territory of Georgia. The excavations are still on-going to reveal more secrets.
